Very good food !!!!! The staff was great and the food was served hot and quickly, my boyfriend and I dine at many Chinese places as we both enjoy Chinese food and I would have to say that this was one of the best we've ever tried !!!!!!!!

China Star is looks like a pretty old school and divey Chinese restaurant from the outside. The inside of the restaurant is pretty cozy with a full service casual dining room (nice Chinese decor) and a lounge area with a bar counter in the back.
The menu offers a pretty good selection of Chinese dishes including Hong Kong, Szechuan, and Mandarin cuisines. They also offer Pad Thai noodles too. The prices are pretty fair. 20 Luncheon Specials and 8 Big Platter Specials are offered here ($5.95-$8.95, the prices recently went up).
On my way back from the field, I stopped in at China Star for lunch and decided to get some takeout to bring back to the office. The place was pretty empty on a typical weekday. I ordered the L2: Vegetable Lo Mein, Pork Fried Rice, and Appetizer ($5.95). The service was uneventful and prompt and the food was ready to go in about 10 minutes.
Other than the fried rice (very dark in color) with minimal pork, the rest of the food tasted pretty good. The good portion of Vegetable Lo Mein had plenty of fresh vegetables, sprouts tossed in firm noodles. The 2 Chicken Teriyaki sticks, though slightly charred on the outside, were very tender and chewy inside with a sweet teriyaki taste outside. Not bad, though. -

the company I worked for had been going here for years for our Christmas party. We used the DD system and we ate, drank and had great times. Last year, we went in to do the same, and after they served our group one round of scorpion bowls, they told us no more alcohol. Why? because we were laughing and having a good time? It was bad, it was terrible. we all left and went to Golden Palace and they welcomed us and we had a great time and spent over 400 hundred dollars in food and drink. The DD people got everyone home safe and life goes on, but we will never go back to China Star.

Food is good, portions big, enough for two servings/meals. Love the crab rangoons.
